3D Mammography at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Over 2.8 million breast cancer survivors are alive and well in the United States today due to good breast health care. It's our goal at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital to see that no woman endures this alone. So, we have brought together a comprehensive team of medical specialists and the latest technology to provide top notch breast healthcare.
Our comprehensive breast health program includes:
- Evaluation of breast health conditions and exams
- Cutting edge 3-D Mammography
- Biopsies and Lumpectomies
- Mastectomies and Breast Cancer Care
- Breast reconstruction
- Follow-up care
MammographyFor most women, mammography is the only service they will need. If the results of the mammogram or breast examination are abnormal, extensive diagnostic testing will be done, depending on the patient's individual needs. An interdisciplinary team of specialists will plan a course action.
Because of our dedication to helping women stay healthy, our hospital has installed the latest breast mammography technology in the nation, called tomosynthesis, or 3-D Mammography. 3-D Mammography has a 41% greater detection rate of breast masses than conventional mammography and its clarity results in 40% fewer false positives than conventional mammography, preventing you from suffering needless emotional stress.
