Crystal Vinas, ARNP

Hospitalist

Biography

Crystal began her nursing journey in 2010. After working in a hospital setting for three years, Crystal chose to broaden her nursing experience by doing traveling nursing. She traveled for a year doing various assignments before coming back to the hospital where she got her start in nursing. In 2014 Crystal went back to school for her Masters in nursing administration. After graduation, Crystal worked as a Patient Care Supervisor overseeing a 35-bed floor and had two dozen employees reporting to her. While Crystal enjoyed working closely with other departments and gained valuable leadership skills, she missed the bedside, the rush of patient care and working in a team setting. That desire drove Crystal to go back to school and obtain her post-Master’s Degree in Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. She graduated in April 2018 with her degree as a Nurse Practitioner. Crystal is originally from Miami, Florida, but enjoys the small community that Red Oak and MCMH has to offer.

"I am on a new journey learning more than I anticipated and it has been great and challenging," said Crystal Vinas, "I enjoy how everyone is so nice and helpful. Coming from Miami, a big city to a small town was a cultural shock but it changed me to be humbler, calmed me down, nothing is so fast paced like back home, to appreciate everything. I look forward to a great future here."
