John Treves, MD

Biography
He completed his internship and neurosurgical residency at UNMC and is the first neurosurgeon to complete his entire training within Nebraska. He was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha during his residency. Dr. Treves earned his bachelor of science degree at UNL, followed by a master of science degree in tumor biology. He completed his medical degree at UNMC in 1993. Dr. Treves' special areas of interest include disorders of the spine and spinal instrumentation, pediatrics, neuro-oncology and pain management. He is a clinical assistant professor of surgery at UNMC. He lectures to students and health care providers frequently and serves on surgical and statewide trauma committees. Priding himself on providing complete and understandable medical information, Dr. Treves promotes open communication in the physician-patient relationship while treating both adult and pediatric neurosurgical patients. He is a native of Lincoln, Nebraska.
