Biography

When caring for others, Liz Johnson has a simple philosophy: "I want to help improve the lives of our patients and our community." As a nurse practitioner specializing in family medicine at MCMH + Clinics, she has the opportunity to care for patients at all stages of life. "I enjoy providing support during those uneasy or tense moments," she said. "It may be talking kids through immunizations, coaching patients on diet modifications or comforting those who receive an unwanted diagnosis." Whatever the situation, Johnson cherishes the opportunities to interact with patients and build relationships. "It's why I enjoy coming to work every day - meeting patients and families, getting to know them, and, most importantly, caring for them and educating them to improve their health," she said. "Making people feel comfortable and confident in bettering their health is rewarding." Outside of work, Johnson loves spending time with her husband, who is a farmer, and their two sons. The Red Oak, Iowa, native also enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, exercising, attending community events and playing and watching sports.
