Biography
Pat Ahrens, MD, whose surgical career at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital began in 2002, is the vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer for Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital.
Born in Pearl City, Hawaii, Dr. Ahrens began his medical career in the 1990s as a general surgeon at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina. In 2002, Dr. Ahrens came to Council Bluffs and began serving as a general surgeon at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital and Mercy Hospital.
Dr. Ahrens earned his bachelor’s degree at Carroll College in Helena, Montana. He completed his medical degree at the University of Washington in Seattle, and he was a surgical resident at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
He is married and has two children.
