Biography

Dr. Blount grew up in Liberty, Nebraska. She received her undergraduate degree in biology from Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska, and her medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. She then completed her internal medicine residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. After residency, she worked as an instructor in medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, before completing her endocrinology fellowship at Washington University. Dr. Blount joined the UNMC Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism faculty this year with a focus on telehealth. Growing up in a rural area, she has a passion for ensure access to care no matter where a patient lives.
